Mike is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, receiving his MBA in Finance and Marketing. His undergraduate work was a BS in Electrical Engineering from Texas A & M University. Other professional licensing includes Series 7 License from FINRA and teaching certification from the state of Texas. He is currently writing a book on Economics and Capitalism.
Mike is a former Director at Dell with various roles in the IT department. Challenges he addressed included projects for factory automation and expanding customer service using global telecommunications. He was previously employed at Charles Schwab in San Francisco as Vice President Telecommunications where he proposed and built Schwab's first nationwide telemarketing center in Indianapolis.
Mike loves to teach and began his teaching career in Austin teaching various math courses. Mike believes that as a teacher, “preparation is of the utmost importance”. Mike sees himself as students’ biggest cheerleader. When not teaching, Mike is a volunteer for First Tee of Austin, which is a program that does more than teach golf – it teaches leadership skills: , Honesty, Integrity, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy, Judgment and Sportsmanship. He has been a volunteer for Habitat of Humanity as an electrician and in construction.
